fishing tips

Lake Mayer is located in Savannah, Georgia. Fish species include bream, panfish, catfish, largemouth Bass, and smallmouth Bass. Lake Mayer is well know for its fishing. Many largemouth bass in the 6 -11 pound range have been caught from this lake. Best bass fishing is early mornings or late evenings.

Panfish of all types including bluegill and red breast sunfish are abundant, and can be caught easily with any live bait, however it seems that worms such as red wigglers, nightcrawlers and crickets are most effective. The lake offers an accessable fishing dock and is open from sunrise to sunset daily.
