Shell Beach Report 4-26-08

Gary, Jason, John, and Dale. Just like the day before the wind was dead calm as we entered the MRGO at Shell Beach, but by the time we got down past Hopedale the wind was starting to pick up. The wind had everything stirred up in Bay Eloi and made for some tough fishing. We did get on a couple good Trout bites and missed a lot of fish fighting the slack lines in the wind. Once again the bait of the day was the Hybrid Flurry minnow in opening night fished under a cork. The guys fished hard and put together a nice box of some very nice Trout up to 4 pounds. They had a great time and were a lot of fun. Total for the day was 50 Trout, 5 Reds, and 2 Sheepshead.

The Trout are turning on and the fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding. Campo’s is open with fuel, bait, ice, and the newly improved back down ramps are open. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo’s is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters, dates are filling fast. Very nice over night accommodations are avalible. 504-439-2680.
