Mesomikenda

Walleye: A favorite among our guests here at Klondike Lodge near gogama off of  hwy144, www.klondikelodge.ca! Lake Mesomikenda has many bays and streams, creating an ideal environment for both trophy (6 to 11 lbs.) and eating-sized pickerel. Use a jig with a worm or body and try a cast and drag technique in a sand bar, or troll with a worm harness. As the walleye move from the the rivers in early June they bite like crazy. Best times for walleye are right before a cold snap in late June and July.

Lake Trout: Early spring offers a great opportunity to fish for trout without using special equipment; the lake trout, which are the biggest among the trout family, are found in shallow water and can be caught by trolling and jigging. Best times are May to early June.

When they head to cooler and deeper water, downrigging and deep fishing methods are used to land this spirited fighter. Best times are July to september.

Small Mouth Bass: There’s nothing small about these bass.  Great eating at all times of the season, this hard-fighting fish provides excitement for both beginners and the most experienced of anglers. With Jigs, bobbers, raps, and worm harnesses, yellows works the best. Best times are august - september.
