Fun Sunday on the Beach. John Defrances, his wife Jennifer, and friends Mike and Ron were onboard. The crew said they wanted to go for the big Trout, so armed with Campo’s croakers and live shrimp we headed into the Sound. It did not take long for Jennifer to get things started with a big Red. After that some big fat Trout to came to the boat. Our Trout action was cut short by the Running of the Bulls. The big Reds showed up big time and just would not leave us alone no matter how many stops we made. Good thing was that the Trout we could get in between the Bulls were in the 3-4 pound class. My crew fished hard put together a nice box of Trout and released a lot of big Reds. Total take home the day was 50 Trout, 4 Reds, and 1 Drum.
The Trout are on and the fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding. Campo’s is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and the newly improved back down ramps are open.
